Who we are
This website is operated by Transviolet Enterprises, a partnership located in Woodland Hills, CA 91367, United States, on behalf of Transviolet ("Transviolet," "we," "us," or "our"). We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
For privacy questions or requests, contact us at info@transviolet.com or write to us at Transviolet Enterprises, Woodland Hills, CA 91367, United States.
Information we collect
Information you provide
When you join the Transviolet mailing list, we collect your email address. You may also choose to provide your first name and ZIP code. Our mailing-list form is provided through Drip.
If you contact us directly, we may receive the information included in your message and any other details you choose to provide.
Please do not send sensitive personal information through the mailing-list form or ordinary email. We do not ask for payment details, government identifiers, health information or similarly sensitive information through this website.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the website, our hosting, delivery and security providers may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. This may include your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, referring page, timestamps, approximate location and diagnostic or security logs.
We use Google Analytics for website measurement and Meta Pixel for marketing, subject to your cookie choices and our consent settings. These tools may receive information about how you use the site, including page views, interactions, approximate location, browser or device information, cookie or advertising identifiers, and information about the page or promotion that referred you to us.
When you choose to play an embedded video, the website loads YouTube's privacy-enhanced player. YouTube may then receive technical and usage information about the player and your interaction with it.
SureCookie records your cookie choice, including when it was made and your selected categories. The consent record includes a session identifier, partial IP address and country. Your choice remains valid for 365 days before renewal, and SureCookie automatically deletes consent logs after 365 days. Individual cookie lifetimes are listed in the Cookie Policy.
Information from other sources
We may receive reports and insights from Google Analytics, Meta and similar providers about website use, campaign performance and interactions with Transviolet promotions. Depending on the service and its configuration, this information may be aggregated or associated with online identifiers.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- operate, deliver, secure and troubleshoot the website;
- send Transviolet news and updates when you join the mailing list;
- manage subscriptions, unsubscribe requests and privacy requests;
- understand website traffic and improve the site and its content;
- measure the effectiveness of promotional campaigns;
- prevent misuse, fraud and security incidents;
- establish, exercise or defend legal claims; and
- comply with legal obligations.
Our legal bases
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on:
- Consent for mailing-list marketing and for non-essential analytics or advertising technologies where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the website, responding to messages, understanding aggregate performance where permitted, and protecting our rights. We consider the effect on visitors before relying on these interests.
- Legal obligations when processing is necessary to comply with law or a valid legal request.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies and similar technologies can store or access information on your device. Essential technologies help operate and secure the site and remember your choices. SureCookie manages non-essential analytics and marketing scripts according to your cookie preferences. Our Cookie Policy lists the current categories, providers, purposes and lifetimes.
The SureCookie banner lets you allow, refuse or customize non-essential cookie categories. You can change those choices at any time using the “Change cookie settings” button on our Cookie Policy page. Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that already occurred while your consent was valid.
The Cookie Policy uses SureCookie's dynamic table to identify the technologies found by its scan, together with their providers, purposes, categories and lifetimes. It will change as the production site and its SureCookie configuration are updated.
When we disclose information
We disclose personal information only as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to:
- Drip, which processes mailing-list submissions and subscriber information for us;
- Google Analytics, for website measurement;
- Meta, through Meta Pixel, for campaign measurement and advertising-related insights;
- YouTube, which provides the privacy-enhanced video player that loads only after you choose to play the embedded video;
- our website hosting, delivery, backup, security and technical-service providers;
- professional advisers, such as legal, accounting or security advisers, when necessary; and
- authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety and security.
If responsibility for the website or related business is transferred as part of a reorganization, financing, sale or similar transaction, information may be disclosed to the parties involved subject to appropriate safeguards.
The website also links to third-party services such as Patreon, Spotify, Bandsintown, social platforms and the Transviolet merchandise store. When you follow those links, the destination service's privacy policy applies.
Sale, sharing and targeted advertising
We do not sell personal information for money. However, some privacy laws may define the use of analytics or advertising technologies, including Meta Pixel, as "selling," "sharing" or processing for targeted advertising even when no money changes hands.
You can decline or change consent for non-essential advertising technologies using the “Change cookie settings” control on our Cookie Policy page. For other privacy-rights requests, contact info@transviolet.com.
Browser privacy signals
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting, but there is no uniform standard for how websites should respond to it. You can manage non-essential cookie categories on our Cookie Policy page. For questions about browser-based privacy signals or privacy-rights requests, contact info@transviolet.com.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. When setting a retention period, we consider the type and sensitivity of the information, why it was collected, legal and security requirements, applicable limitation periods, and whether the purpose can be achieved with aggregated or de-identified information.
In general:
- mailing-list information is kept while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we may retain a limited record of the opt-out so we can honor your choice and meet legal requirements;
- correspondence and privacy-request records are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond, document the request and meet legal obligations;
- analytics information is retained according to the settings selected in our analytics account. Google Analytics applies configurable retention periods to user-level and event-level data, while aggregated reporting may be kept longer;
- advertising, platform and service providers retain information under their applicable settings, contracts and privacy policies;
- security and server logs are retained according to the operational and security schedules of our production providers; and
- SureCookie consent records are automatically deleted after 365 days, and your cookie choice remains valid for 365 days before renewal.
Information may remain for a limited period in protected backups before those backups are overwritten or deleted. We may retain information longer where required by law, necessary to resolve a dispute or needed to protect legal rights. When possible, we delete or de-identify information that is no longer needed.
Your choices and privacy rights
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email. You can revisit your non-essential cookie choices at any time with the “Change cookie settings” button on our Cookie Policy page.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- request access to or a copy of your personal information;
- request correction or deletion;
- request restriction of processing;
- object to certain processing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- opt out of sale, sharing or targeted advertising as those terms are defined by applicable law;
- appeal a refusal to act on a request where applicable; and
- complain to your local data-protection or privacy authority.
To make a request, contact info@transviolet.com. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may ask for proof of authority and direct verification from you. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
Some rights are limited by law. For example, we may need to retain particular records to meet legal, security or recordkeeping obligations. If an exception applies, we will explain it when responding where required.
International processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live, including the United States. Contact us at info@transviolet.com if you have questions about international processing.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it.
Where applicable law provides additional protections for teenagers, we will not knowingly sell or share their personal information or use it for targeted advertising without the authorization required by law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website, our services or applicable requirements change. When we make changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and provide additional notice where required.
